About the School

Raising the standard of healthcare quality

School of Allied Health Sciences was initiated in Iqra National University with the aim to carry teaching and clinical training on various aspects of health education, suggesting measures for the improvement of human health, especially focusing on developing and enhancing the standards in healthcare quality by producing highly trained professionals.

For clinical training of students, Faculty of AHS have signed MOU with Hayatabad Medical Complex, Zia Medical Complex, City General Hospital, Shahab Orthopedic Hospital & Regional Blood Centre Peshawar for clinical training of our students which has all the essential clinical Schools. All clinical Schools are furnished with modern equipment to provide high quality medical clinical training facilities.

The faculty members in all the disciplines of Allied Health Sciences are highly qualified and experienced.

The laboratories and museums are well-equipped, the tutorial rooms, lecture halls and auditorium not only meet the educational needs but also have the capacity of hosting seminars and conferences. The students and faculty are encouraged to carry on visits to places relating to their professional interest as well as go for recreational visits in the form of groups. Emergency medical services are available for students, staff and faculty members.

The faculty of Health & Life Sciences is the largest faculty of INU. It is a fast-growing faculty which showed tremendous developments raising programs from three in 2016 to ten in 2025. This great achievement was possible due to the untiring efforts and dedication of the teaching staff which has boosted the image of the faculty. The faculty keeps on updating the courses of the programs to bring them as per with national and international standards and to confirm to the vision and mission of the faculty.

Our faculty offers comprehensive programs across Pharmacy, and Health technologies including Dentistry, Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratory, Physiotherapy, Anesthesia, Surgical, and Cardiology each designed to prepare future healthcare professionals to meet the challenges of modern healthcare with knowledge, integrity, and compassion.

The School of Allied Health Sciences is a fast growing School which offers admissions in 9 different programs. The School aims to prepare trained Health Professionals and Physical Therapists who can work effectively in all environments, to provide evidence-based, patient-centered physical therapy and Allied Health services for the community, and to educate students who will lead this profession into the coming generations to provide education to meet these goals in an environment where learning is fun and comfortable. We have highly qualified faculty members who are committed to excellence in education and exhibit enthusiasm and passion for teaching and clinical practice. Our faculty members are diverse and talented in the theoretical and practical backgrounds of their relevant fields. Moreover, we are practicing the modern teaching methodologies and principles of adult learning to stir up interest in learning among our students. We have developed our curriculums as per the requirements of national and international standards and needs. We have signed MOU with Hayatabad Medical Complex, Zia Medical Complex, City General Hospital, Shahab Orthopedic Hospital & Regional Blood Centre Peshawar for clinical training of our students. We train our faculty members to teach according to the standard of UK Advance Higher Education. We arrange different study tours, workshops, and seminars with eminent speakers having profound knowledge and experience in the industry, academia, health, and research. We look forward to developing new relationships, new programs, and strengthening existing relationships.

All BS programs in Allied Health Sciences share a common two-year foundation in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, public health and general education (course codes prefixed AHS and GEN), before branching into program-specific clinical specialisation from Semester 5 onward.

Course Overview

The first professional degree in physical therapy endorsed by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) comprises of 5 years (10 semesters), equivalent 17 years of schooling. The degree program will produce physical therapy professionals who will be Doctors of Physical Therapy and will be competent to diagnose and treat movement dysfunctions due to injuries or diseases by using all physical means including manual therapy techniques, exercise therapy, electrotherapy and preventative and corrective measures.

Physical Therapists with the DPT degree will be practitioners of choice to whom public will have direct access for the diagnosis of, interventions for, and prevention of impairments, environmental barriers related to movement, function, and health. The DPT degree also fulfills the international requirements for physical therapy education, so the DPT graduates could get equivalency easily abroad.
